Negative Influence of kheaps

A sheer differentiation of attitude in footballers of this generation can easily be distinguished with the past generation players. One of the major problems of this era’s footballers is their casual attitude to things which was given utmost priority in past. Now, if we try to evaluate the cause of such easy-go-lucky attitude in players, the pivotal fact that would come first to our mind is the opportunity to the players of present generation to earn quick money by playing kheaps. Thus, quite naturally, they are driven by the passion of earning quick money as till date money holds immense value in our society. Instead of setting a goal to reach at the top level as a professional footballer the young generation is often lured by kheap matches. Kheap has become a great concern for the officials of the clubs who play the professional leagues in India. Despite all level of progress, money is yet to enter the lower divisions of Indian football. Hence, the budding players are often being derailed from their vision and play kheap tournaments. Besides, the absence of a proper structured philosophy of clubs encourages players to play kheaps. Due to lack of money clubs seldom compromise on their fundamental principles and allow players to play kheap without taking any strict action.

Officials also have major role to inculcate the injurious practice of playing kheaps in players. In few occasions it can be observed that the officials themselves get contacts of kheaps for players and in other cases they just plays a role of a spectators, despite knowing the fact that playing kheaps can lead a player’s future to disruption that opt to remain quiet. A footballer who has innate talent is the vulnerable one because the eyes of kheap agents relentlessly find such talent in open market. Instead of being nurtured properly a young budding player is taken to kheap grounds for quick money.

Indian football can only progress when this unhealthy practice of playing kheaps can be brought under control. Money is really an important aspect of our life and it is quite obvious that young players also need money but all we need to ensure is that the necessity of earning money at young age by playing kheaps should not turn into an obsession for a player.

A proper rule and philosophy of a club can certainly bring things under control and usher a bright future to the young and budding footballers of this generation. The work may not be that easy as there is no replacement of the necessity of money but care and tenderness may help to overshadow the greediness of players.
