The growing number of rape
cases in recent years has become a great concern for us. Not only adult girls but
babies are also in the list of victims. The incident of 2012 in Delhi where a
girl was brutally raped and murdered in a running bus shook the entire national
and following that incident many new laws were enacted in the coming years. Nonetheless,
notwithstanding, all such precautions the
number of rape cases have no way been persuaded as there has been several cases
in past years which made us vulnerable as far as girls and child safety is
concerned.
The recent rape incident of Hyderabad
has once again manifested how helpless girls are in our country. A girl aged
twenty seven was brutally raped and burnt alive and quite surprisingly both in
Delhi and Hyderabad those girls were doctors and abducted during the evening time.
From the news report we can easily figure it out that the four culprits of Hyderabad
incident are from underprivileged background which was also a common factor in
the case of Delhi.
Many of us are protesting and
demanding for the punishment of the culprits, and yes it is obvious and
inevitable consequence for what they have done but we must sincerely give it a thought
that why despite all every possible actions such heinous acts are taking place
so often. The fast and foremost factor that we need to ensure is the active participation
of police. Even in the case of Hyderabad there is a demand that it took quite
long time for police to react to the missing diary of the family members of
rape victim.
I think as soon as police department
would take some serious initiative the number of such vicious acts like rape
would surely reduce from our society. It is also true that police department
some times are bound to work under some boundaries which mainly brought about
difficulties in their path to seek justice for the victim or his or her family.
The day police department will have the liberty to work and take any steps
according to their whim to establish peace in our society then the number of
crimes will also dramatically be washed off our society.
And above well proper education
system both at school and home can certainly instill humanity in the mind of youth
which in turn would keep them away from all these inhuman activities like rape
or murdering. Education brings awareness and awareness gives us the ability to envisage the consequence for our actions. Thus, with the spread of education awareness
would also grow in the mind of our citizen and which would ultimately help us
build a crime free nation.
