It is utterly heartbreaking that Corona patients are being humiliated by their neighbors in our locality. It is likewise, surprising that despite knowing the fact and every detail about the disease, we are acting more like an unlettered one than behaving as a civilized citizen of the nation. It is always painful when someone is discriminated due to a health issue and there have been protests against all such discrimination in recent past. However, once again we have gone back to ancient era when without having adequate knowledge patients were alienated from the society and were brutally harassed for different diseases.
Watching news about the humiliation of a Corona patients or their families by the locals, have become more often a regular issue. There is no answer to this question that why are we behaving so weirdly when nothing is secret to us. Our country is incompetent to provide the citizen with adequate treatment and thus, home-quarantine is the feasible remedy to many of us. Amid such crisis the reaction of some people and in rare cases of political parties are completely surprising. When we must stand by each other and support the needy one, we are following the opposite direction that is discrimination and hatred.
We must not forget that since there is no confirm treatment is available for the disease yet; it is quite expected that we have to go along with it for at least a few more months. While, everything around us is so uncertain, it is not a wise contemplation to discriminate somebody just because of a disease. As we know, time is the most precious aspect of one’s life and it constantly changes beyond anyone’s prediction, the stand of the discriminator may flip around tomorrow and today’s hunter may become hunted tomorrow. So, considering the contemporary scenario I feel, we all must act promptly and extend our cooperation to each other to overcome the hardship instead of spreading discrimination.
