After Apple Picking

Having spent a tiresome day when I went to bed last night; I just fell asleep immediately and lost into a dreamy world. Plants of different species that mostly occupy my days do not even leave me in my dream these days. The dream that I had last night has resemblance with the poem ‘After Apple Picking” written by American author ‘Robert Frost’ to a large extent. In the poem, the narrator explains how his regular occupancy which is to pick apples from trees also fills a large part of his dream. In the poem the poet quite vividly delineates how the reddish apples appear in front of his drowsy eyes while he is lost in deep sleep. I could also sense the same sort of situation when I had a dream last night about dealing with Mango plants.

As my tiredness has overpowered all my energy when I off to bed at night; the curtain of drowsiness eventually wore its power upon my weak eyes. Soon after I lost into the dreamy world I could vaguely sense that the charm of plants has not left me even when I fell asleep. I could see myself holding a Mango tree while plenty of it stands in front of me; I just roughly try to figure out the quality of grafting of the plant. When I woke up in the morning, although I was now fully aware and living in the reality, the vivid picturesque of the dream that I had last night, quite implicitly induced my memory.

The dream invokes the line of ‘After Apple Picking’ in my mind, as soon as I opened my eyes in the morning. The very first thought that peeped into my mind was the poem that I had in my last course. I could feel the intense longing that was gradually taking shape in my mind to experience the beautiful poem once again. How could one ignore such strong intense of mind and I, too responding to the intensity or longing of my mind, once again got the opportunity to lost into another world , ‘ the world of delicacy’ while reading the beautiful poem.
