The year ‘2020’ seems to
be remembered as long as civilization shall be there. The intense and fierce
blow that we have been suffering this year shall not be forgotten soon. First,
Covid-19, the pandemic made the entire world feel susceptible. The vicious impact
of Corona Virus put humanity at great risk; thousands of people are dying every
day all across the world helplessly. The fare of it somehow instilled in our
mind so firmly that it might never go away. While, we all were struggling so
much to cope with Covid-19 another natural calamities ‘Amphan’ (Cyclone) pushed
us at the periphery of annihilation.
The destruction of ‘Amphan’
left thousands of people shelter and food less for weeks. Many lost their
homes, lands relatives in this cyclone that struck Kolkata alongside many other
districts of West Bengal in India. The loose that people of rural areas
suffered is immense, their lives are no way at ease. Aftermath, of the storm is
more vulnerable, as most people be it in urban or rural areas lack the basic
but utmost necessary amenities like water, electricity for several days.
The trouble seemed to have
become double for us when ‘Amphan’ added in the list along with Covid-19.
People feel vulnerable and can’t figure out how to encounter these two strong
natural crises back to back, although, our government is trying its best to
help people to overcome this hardship at the earliest but it would certainly
need time. It is the high time for us to show our patience as we must not
forget that Covid-19 is still there and it’s utterly necessary to follow all
the steps to prevent the disease from further spreading.
