Living in a dynamic world, where we merely have time to mourn in other’s grief, it has forced us to behave more like machine than a human being. With the constant changes of our surroundings, our moods too seem to be getting adapted to adjust quickly in any given situation. We might not have thought about the fact that how our daily life style and society is influencing us to act on its whim. For an instance if we think about social media which occupies a great part of our lives and demands us to be swift when it comes to putting light on our emotional side. When there is any tragic incident we share our sorrow on Face Book and quite surprisingly immediately after that when we come across something exciting, we seem to forget about the agony that we were in a while ago and just go with the flow.
Social media, which has undoubtedly occupied a large part of our life, has depicted certain facts that often force us to consider how dramatically everything around us is changing with time. Through face book we can get a sense of the contemporary social scenario, it has delineated the two different sides of lives quite vividly. In one hand, when we see viral news on social media where a class of people are struggling viciously for their basic survivals and on the other hand a group of people who are barely bothered about that and busy celebrating their happiness on the same platform. In no means we can find any resemblance in those two different aspects of lives. They are like straight lines which will never cross each other and carry on their journey independently.
Many may differ with my opinion but there is no denial of the fact that in a fastest world, we have mastered the skill to be transparent based on the situation. Yet, while acting so smoothly to deal with our emotions, we without our own insight have instilled the feature of ‘Getting adapted so well with changes; that we ourselves seldom struggle to recognize our own beings. This is one of the reasons that most of us seek for consolation from others but unfortunately that transformation of our characteristics have taken place from so deep into the root that maximum of us lack that compassion in us and thus, have got nothing to offer to us.
The emotional bonding that we could see in families few years back are someway missing in the modern days, kids are more likely to adapt to the prevailing culture and react accordingly. Altogether, a vacuum can be felt in our heart which lack love and compassion. We have adapted to changes so naturally that it looks impossible to retrieve that feature back in our character again. Our attempt to keep ourselves busy with work to some extent has driven us far from our own soul and left us to wonder in a ruthless world, like stranger look for home.
An exquisite sketch of modern times telling us quite blaringly what's wrong with us, but told in such a profound and engaging way that it seems more like an instropection than an indictment. I thoroughly enjoyed the portions where you blend the ever changing scenario between the old and the old, rickety and sleek, grumpy and ghettoy. So long as people occupy this planet. such Strifes will be part and parcel of our humdrum existence.
ReplyDeleteThank you from the recess of my heart for such an engaging and riveting read.
