Alcohol and its impact on society

It is needless to say that drinking alcohol nowadays became a trend of aristocracy for both young and middle aged generation. People belong to high society and their programs are somehow very much indissoluble from alcohol. The society has quite graciously welcomed this new trend, which was previously restricted among the  aristocrat people, is  now accepted among all classes. But, the matter of concern is that with time the trend of drinking alcohol is getting so undue popularity among the mass that a huge number of people are getting addicted to it.

It is mostly the young generations who have become unreasonably addicted to alcohol in an early age. On an average, youths of the aged between ‘13-15’ are quite surprisingly consuming different types of drugs that are harmful for them.  Unlike past days when consuming alcohol was regarded as a matter of shame and thus, people looked quite reluctant to get themselves exposed in public while buying alcohols; yet, in the modern generation, people of all ages and genders do not possess any such apathy or consideration in their mind while purchasing wine or alcohol from market.

It does not really require any further explanation that this trend of consuming alcohol is gradually being accepted by all classes of people. In fact in recent days parents or family members no longer oppose to that unhealthy practice, they rather, accepted it and likewise, regarded it safe to let the practice be continuing at home than outside. As a consequence of  fact, we nowadays can often see that young generation are quite freely taking alcohol at home and enjoying it with friends and in special cases with families pretty happily.

Drinking alcohol is thus no longer considered as a matter of unhealthy practice in our society; rather, those are being criticized, who are yet to accept that trend in their own life and family. The recent incident when they government gave permission to reopen the wine shops after a long period of lock-down, the wine shops were over poring with the enchanted customers waiting in long queues. It is really surprising that people despite, the pandemic could resist on their lure to consume alcohol and putting their lives on risks while they came to by wine.

Keeping in mind, the growing numbers of wine shops in our locality and also the buyers; it is a fact that may not now at present, but in near future would definitely bring about immense concern in our life. Since we do not have a consolidated economy and on top of that due to the impact of Covid the condition has worsen, the future appears quite doom and gloomy as far as the sustainability of our economy is concern. And it is quite needless to mention here that once the GDP of the nation will fall beyond the recovery level the entire nation will shrink along with that.

Above all, somehow the vicious practice of consuming alcohol has drilled a long drawn harmful impact on our society, mostly among the youth generation. At an early age of life when the youths must focus on issues that would build their basic character and lay the foundation for a better future, their impulse to consume drug, is literally pushing them on the verge of losing their mind and becoming drug-addicted. When our passion to something turns into our utmost obsession we tend to lose our mind very obscurely and get attracted to it losing all our virtues. Similarly, in the case of youth generation the same the things is happening, as long as consuming alcohol remain as their passion or a mode of relaxation things appeared under control but when it turned into their utmost priority they eventually lost their self-esteem. It is indeed a fact that would bring stress lines on our forehead in near future if not we can bring things under control now.
