‘APMC’ act reformation proposal by the BJP government is one of the most talked issues in the recent days. This bill proposed for a reformation in the process of produced gods by farmers, although the picture is not yet clear to which way it has to go in future. The BJP government, who feels that accepting this bill would surely help the farmers to gain profit from their yielded products and at the same time keep a good flow in the market.
The full form of ‘APMC’ is ‘Agricultural produce market committee’, which
was set in 1966. The main purpose behind forming this committee so many decades
back was to ensure that the farmers of the struggling classes are not deprived
by the affluent ones. At the same time this committee made sure that the price
of produced gods by farmers has a resemblance with the market and it follows a
protocol. However, the recent reformation
acts that the ruling government has proposed became a matter of serious
criticize of the opposition parties. They feel that introducing this new act
may bring about great disparity in the market of agriculture.
Since
this proposed reformation act would enable farmers to sale their produce gods
to anyone where they can get maximum profit, there is a chance for things to
turn out to an unexpected manner. It is assumed that the power to decide whom
to sale their products, would lure the farmers to shake hands mostly with the
big corporate houses. The corporate houses may later capture the market all
over the nation by delivering the products to the consumers. Indeed this entire
concept appears little bewildering; with the power to be shifted from farmers to
the corporate houses, who would eventually
have a farm hold on the market of agricultural products, means
establishment of capitalization in the field of agriculture as well.
Yet,
it is too early to comment on the attempt of the government. They must have a concrete
plan back in mind to reform the APMC act which was all set in 1966, keeping
in mind to safeguard the struggling farmers. However, this newly proposed
reform act on this case certainly uproar the concern throughout the nation,
which eventually took a political form. Farmers are also in a state of great confusion,
it is only time they may clear the mist of uncertainty which is lofting ahead
now.
