Religion and our life

In our society religion has been given utmost importance in our daily life. The normal life styles of ours are so largely influenced by the impact of religion that most are engulfed in it. The more uneducated the society; the stronger the persuasion of religion is in our life. In history we have seen that during the time of renaissance all over the world and also in our nation educated personalities came forward to foster people to realize the essence of religion and steer humanity towards science than superstitious believes.

In past the persuasion of religion in our life was so firm that almost in all the activities of human being, religion was an inexorable part of it. People tended to narrate or consider daily happenings from the perspective of religion than any other scientific preview. Religion was somehow embedded with our life and society so intensely that the power to think about things with freedom was a matter of far cry for civilization.

It has been more than seventy years that we achieved freedom from British colony, yet our real freedom has not been reflected in our perception and life style. The ill impact of religion is prevailing in our consideration very effectively; it is hindering the desirable progress of our society in every step. Although, education to some extent being able to justify our prejudice and blind believe in religion but a large section of our society still follow religion guru’s with their eyes closed.

Here it is worth mentioning that the influence of religion is so delicate and strong that based on it our country and the entire world was segregated according to the choice of rulers in past. Making religion a tool they instigated hatred in the mind of innocent people for one another and quite unfortunately, despite such remarkable progress of ours still our society trail the mark of religion. There was a time, even few years ago when during eclipse consuming any food even water was strictly prohibited by the blind followers of religion. It may surprise us but till date there are educated people who still follow that sick ritual without comprehending its value from the preview of science.

The problem lies in the fact that religion and people associated with it, who promote the superstitious aspect of religion, entrapped us in its practice so neatly that there seem to be no way out for the society than to dig more deep into dark. Education, perhaps the only means that can help civilization to release from this barrier of religion, however, the grip of religion seems to so compact and stable that an easy way out apparently looks impossible. Religion has the power to empower once mind and guide one’s life towards real freedom where our mind will prosper from every aspect. Nonetheless, in contradiction to that religion in reality is being used as a medium to control our life and instead of ushering our society to development, it is putting us on the verge of absolute destruction.

The power of religion is that strong and vast that it has influenced the smallest part of our life so impeccably that nothing seems to be out its reach. Children are too misguided rather taught several irrational factors, like ‘worshiping god and goddess to do well in the exam and without the blessing of god they can never do well in the examination, irrespective of their dedicated effort to study. Such ill practice and believe are presence in our society so unprecedentedly that the value of one’s honesty is being evaluated from the perspective of religion than of humanity.

  1. This piece I have to say is enriched with not so much detail as it is with heart and mind of an educated man who sure knows where he's come from and where he's heading to. the simplicity in language makes the readers understand each and every word with the vibe of a friendly essay. Your attempt to tell us the negative impacts of religion on us are very well documented that they represent a voice which we want to make our own. But what you've mentioned here is also true having been yoked into this matrix from a very young age has conflated us with this tragic canvas where our each step is measured with whether we've prayed or not, paid obeisance or not, who we are worshipping and also who we shouldn't worship. All this has played foul with our polished minds and made us inert of sound anaylsis and therefore individual improvement. I hope as we all do through such excercises of creating awareness , Right strings of thoughts will overthrow the misguided ones and cure those on the misinformed and stray path of feeble genuflection to robust advertisement of power and religion.
