A true incident of my life

On my way back home; I witnessed an incident today that intrigued a serious concern in my mind. Two young boys, who would be around twenties, were fighting like animals on the road. One of them was bleeding heavily and the other one was gasping desperately, perhaps due to the exhaustion of his physically involvement in the conflict. Their appearance was making it clear that they belonged to a well-to-do family and both of them had motorbikes. Like me, hundreds of people gathered at the spot and some of the passerby‘s were also trying to prevent them from getting into further conflict.

The entire event surprised me and forced me to think about the incident seriously. I could not figure out what really prompts this generation to react to every situation so viciously. It begot some sort of insecurity and palpable feeling within me. I just wonder, why can’t the young generation think constructively and also why do they have to respond to every occasions in an aggressive manner. The thought lingered in my mind throughout the day and finally I came to realize that somehow it is the society and the upbringing of this generation that bring about such fierce attitude in the mind of the present generation.

From the very early age we encourage our children to react to every situation with a negative state of mind. We do not at all feel the essence to inculcate elegant manner and tolerance in the mind of youths. We teach them that the world is full of danger and co-operation in any given situation means they lost the battle. And quite naturally, that vicious perception instigates insecurity in the mind of young generation. As an outrage of that negative perception they react to every happening in life, be it a minor or major fact with a rigorous approach.

I somehow felt the urge that it is indeed a crucial time, when we must give it a serious thought and usher the youths to the right direction. Instead of encouraging them to be aggressive, we should make an endeavor to teach them the lesson of kindness and tolerance. It will not only bring a positive change in their behavior but also make our society a better place where humanity shall be prioritize above all other attributes of human characters.
