Negative Impact of Alcoholism on Sports

Indiscipline lifestyle has always been a destructive and one of  the harmful elements to any sports person's life. Consuming Alcohol and paid sex are the most contagious habits that ruin many sports men’s career all across the world. In some cases it can be observed that through dedication and proper guidance several sportsmen from different disciplines were able to get rid off their deadly obsession whereas few could not make it to a successful end as their addiction led them towards a deadly destruction.

The legendary footballer of England National team & one of the most successful captains of Arsenal Tony Admas made a great come back after being badly addicted to an unhealthy lifestyle which includes both consuming too much alcohol and paid sex. Mr. Admas opened up in an interview about his past life when he felt the necessity to overcome the most difficult challange of his life and later on continued playing for Arsenal following a great coaching career for several clubs in later future.

Unlike Tony Admas there are plenty of great sportsmen who had just ruined their aspiring sporting career and tried to committee suicide due to addiction and unhealthy life style, Kenny Sansom is an example of it. After having a successful sporting career of 20 years in clubs like Crystal Palace , Arsenal, Newcastle United, Everton and many more, he unfortunately  faced several difficulties in his later life and the most awful incident was when he was found asleep in a supermarket in London next to two empty wine bottles . Due to his alcoholic habit he was hospitalized and sent to rehab centres quite a few times to save his life.

Undoubtedly still there are plenty of sports persons in our country who are facing such destruction due to their unhealthy lifestyle and ending up their promising sports career. I believe that as a developing country if India is able to eradicate the problem and ensure to provide a healthy lifestyle to our young sports persons in all disciplines then soon we are going to make our mark as a successful country in the sports arena of the world.
