Success and quality

Is success the ultimate parameter to ensure someone’s quality? According to me it is not. Because success is a process of reaching at top of a goal but it can’t be the confirmation of someone’s excellence. One may achieve success in a particular sphere that he or she is interested in whereas his/her friend may not reach that level of success regardless of his/ her excellence more than the one who reached success in that particular profession.

In sports we can see that more often. Many talented sports personnel can’t reach the level of success where they should have reached according to their quality, whereas few reach top despite lack of quality. For an instance, the soccer players of England are well known to the world but there are more talented players than those English, but they do not get such exposure due to some unknown reason. If we talk about Zidane, considering his quality it took him longer than expected to earn the fame all around the world, whereas midfielders like Lampard, Gerrard and many other English players became popular with half of Zidane’s quality. Thus, it is proven that success doesn’t always follow quality. Yet, success is one of the major aspects of quality and both are complementary to each other.
