Value of teacher in our society

There is a sheer differentiation between the believe of our modern and earlier generations about the culture and work ethics. The most common stratification that we can notice in the opine of these two separate generations is in their consideration of different culture aspects. An instance in this scenario that would help us to contemplate the fact easily is their diverse approach of showing respect to elders. Unlike the present generation in past days youths were relatively conservative to their seniors. In modern days consuming alcohol or smoking no longer deemed a matter to be hidden from elders which was a common practice in earlier days.

We can also notice a transformation in the relationship of teachers and students in modern days which has no resemblance with past days. A couple of days ago I saw a post on Facebook where a person was holding an alcohol bottle and gave a tag line “Bolo Durga Mai Ki Joy”. Had he been associated with any other profession but not with education I would not have bothered to write on this topic. But, as his profession which is related to some reputed English medium school in Kolkata, where he is a game teacher, really forced me to think about the fact that what might have prompted him to upload such picture on social media. According to me he should have been more responsible before uploading that particular picture because being the sports teacher I believe he holds immense respect and popularity among his students and now when those students would see that picture where he is holding an alcohol bottle would certainly have a negative impact on his students.

Teachers are regarded as the leader of our society, they steer the generation towards development but it’s really unfortunate that in the modern era teachers barely bother about all these ideologies and remained engrossed in activities which no way suites their profession.  I think all teachers must remain faithful to their responsibility and work ethics and never comprise on these two integral facts pertaining to teaching profession.

Many may differ with my thought because as I mentioned above that a group of people of modern generation no way want to believe that in some situations we must follow our old ethics to maintain harmony and prosperity in the society. Teaching has always been regarded as the most prestigious profession and those who are associated with this profession must show respect towards their job and responsibilities.
