Excitement in youths as well as among seniors, revolving the Puja is something can never go away without a notice. Durga Puja, the biggest festival of West Bengal, draws attention of all class of people across the world. The mind-blowing sculpture decorations in Pandals and glittering lightings in almost every lane attract plenty of visitors to visit West Bengal during Durga Puja to experience a lifetime memory for them.  Durga Puja, is not merely a religious festival in West Bengal its significance and persuasion have bigger influence on the state’s economy.

Thousands of cores rupees are being spent in Bengal while celebrating Durga Puja. In other way we can say that Durga Puja is a means to drag out the surplus money from rich and keep the cash flow in market in an appropriate manner. Regardless of financial and religious backgrounds more or less everybody celebrate the biggest festival of West Bengal. And in the process of celebration the most common factor for general people is shopping. Therefore, it can be said that cloth industries make immense profit during the Puja time. All labors and shop keepers are also part of this process because with the growth of cloth industries they likewise grow economically. Besides, Food industries as well as small vendors make lucrative profit during these Puja months (September – October).

Thus, overall we can say that Durga Puja in West Bengal brings prosperity and growth for all class of people. Although in recent days it can be followed that in some places, ‘forcefully money collection’ with an excuse of celebrating grand pujas brought about difficulties for small businessmen and general people. We must not forget that Durga Puja is a celebration of happiness thereby forcefully money extortion should no way be supported. It needs to be ensured that no one should feel overburdened with the unprecedented amount of financial claim by the puja committees.
