Departure of Ma Durga

The latent excitement that has been boosting for so long in our mind about the Durga Puja, is over now. The excitement that were building upon on our mind for months revolving the puja, is now all settled and we look forward for the next year. Although, the excitement among people might have been over, but their optimism revolving the forthcoming Kali Puja and Laxmi Puja are gradually taking shape. It is true that the departure of Ma Durga has heaved our mind with lot of gloominess and sorrow but on the other hand, we are threading our hopes for the other religious festivals that are lying ahead.

Bengali, as a community loves to be engaged in different communal activities that bring pleasure in our mind. Thus, all the religious festivals are the means of refreshment to the Bengali people and yes, with that, it also promotes our fundamental aspect as a community that is our belief and respect to our religion. Bengali, as a community believes in harmony and unity and therefore, religious festivals hold salient factor to enrich our community as a whole.

With the departure of Ma Durga, the environment appears so monotonous; few days back even the rush of public for shopping was at pick but now all seem to have been dampened by the conclusion of Bengal's biggest festival Durga Puja. Nonetheless, the conclusion of something invariably rays the hope of the coming days that would come afresh. The slogan, ‘ Asche Bachar Abar Hobe’(The Celebration shall take place in the coming year again)  thus, quite resembles when Ma Durga along with her families are taken to bid good-bye. That is how Bengali consider every aspect of life, we being a community always remain optimistic about the progress of all. To us Ma Durga is an imagery  of power and holiness which does have an end, therefore her departure only deemed as a fact of ritual because she remain alive in every Bengali's heart  throughout the year.
