Match Against Bhawanipur

In a friendly match Patha Chakra faced Bhawanipur SC, who are at the Premier “A” division.

Bhawanipur started with their first eleven with three foreigners and all other experienced Indian Player. On the other hand, Patha Chakra, was all about the youth product of United Sports Club, along with some newly signed promising young footballers of Kolkata.

The match was played in two halves, the first half contained sixty minute and the second thirty minutes.

Patha Chakra coach Debraj Chatterjee , fielded his second squad in the first half of the match, whereas Bhawnipur decided to start with their best eleven, including three foreigners from the get-go.

It did not take long for Bhawnipur to take the lead in the match and manifested their dominance. However, Patha Chakra responded immediately and with a fantastic strike of Sudip Das, they reduced the gap of 2-0 to 2-1. Soon after, Bhawanipur retrieved their two goals lead, when their foreign striker Dodos scored on 45 minutes and gave his side a 3-1 lead.

Again it was Bhawanipur who scored and made the scoreline 4-1. At the verge of the first halves when Patha Chakra coach was perhaps losing his hope for a comeback in the match, a mindboggling effort from Tarak Hembram, who is a U-18 I-League player of USC, surprised everybody present at the ground. His clinical effort from the middle of the ground easily beat the custodian of Bhawanipur, who was far away from goal line and no way prepared for such a clever effort.

The second half began in an electrifying atmosphere, with both sides opting to field their best eleven of Indian players. Having played the first half with their second squad, Patah Chakra sent their first eleven in the last thirty minutes. Despite the fact that Patha Cahkra is a team of “B” division, took the upper hand against a team like bhawanipur who will not only be playing at “A” division of CFL but also have the budget around 10 times more than Patha Chakra.

The spark and dedication of Patha Chakra’s players paid off very early when their newly recruited striker rushed towards the opponent keeper, who had the ball in his feet, and forced him to make a mistake. With their third goal Patha Chakra, not only took lead in the second half of the match but displayed an eye-soothing performance throughout the second half of the game.

Although, the result and performance will have no value in the CFL but the sublime performance of the young purple side against a high budgeted team like Bhawnipur, certainly deserves praising from all. Hope they will be able to continue with the same pace and dedication throughout the CFL and get their desirable reward from the league.
