Necessity to introduce professional football fixture in Indian Football

Indian football undoubtedly is a thriving sporting industry in 21st century. With time the set-up is becoming more like a corporate sector where educated people are valued the most. In contrast to past, footballers are now trying to get themselves used to that corporate scenario. They are learning to speak English like any other sports personnel do. Altogether Indian football is growing by lips and bounds as far as formalities are concerned. However, despite so much of glamour and modernization, Indian football is miles away to meet the playing standard of European or any other developed country in football world.

While trying to analyze the reason for such sluggish growth in the playing standard of India, the first and foremost factor that would strike in our mind is the unorganized football calendar of our country. I-League and ISL the top two leagues at this moment in India are run for only 5-6  months whereas any professional league in Europe or elsewhere minimum go on for more than ten months. The football calendar of any professional and FIFA affiliated football league is made keeping in view that players should have maximum engagement in the respective league/s of that country throughout the year.

It is indeed a painful and at the same time shameful issue for Indian football that despite such huge financial contribution to conduct the top two leagues of the country still the administrative of AIFF fail to meet the basic and fundamental criteria of FIFA. Although we lack in many other factors in comparison to the best football leagues in World; I feel given the present scenario of Indian football leagues and the standard of football, we must focus on making a proper football calendar in every football leagues affiliated by AIFF in our nation. The outcome of preparing such desirable league would certainly bring a positive change in Indian football. After accomplishing the basic target we can then set our target to take Indian football to the class of European standard by implementing other necessary aspects. But until the organizers or administrative of Indian football would realize the essence of conducting a proper football league/s according to the rule of FIFA it will remain a far cry for us to reach the best level of the sports.
