The other side of death (Covid-19)

Death is always painful as it takes away our beloved one from us forever. The pain of losing the dearest one is something that can’t be put forth in words. Death is uncertain and vague, no one knows what is there after death and thus, the unknown journey that lay ahead beyond life, we all have to embark upon at least once. There have been several literary creations on death in different languages; different writers described death from different point of views. The perpetuated narrations of writers of different centuries depicted ‘death’ in a new manner in every attempt, but despite, such vast endeavor to address death for so long it never feels adequate to delineate it perfectly.  Death has different significance to each of us, to some it is a mere process in which the holy soul just leaves a body to reborn anew, whereas to others it is the end and nothing is there beyond it. Our believes revolving death have separate consideration which has of its own explanation to safeguard its believe.

But, the prevailing condition that has overpowered all our modern technology while combating the devastating pandemic Covid-19, death has peeped once again in an unknown manner that has made us feel vulnerable more than ever before. Thousands of lives are lost and the process is believed to remain the same in the days to come when we shall lose our family members and friends from the outbreak of Corona virus. Death seems to have taken a shape which has made it more painful and heartbreaking for the civilization to bear the consequence that it weighted upon us. People who are affected and eventually lost their lives in Covid-19 are being cremated ruthlessly without the knowledge of their family and friends.

The power of death has once again made us feel so inferior that it has tactically debarred us to even come close to our beloved one to see the last glimpse. Our longing to soften our pain by seeing our nearest and dearest one for the last time, has now also become impossible as death has put barrier to restrict us to come close to the one who has died of Corona. The fear and prejudice that has built upon revolving the deaths of Covid patients certainly brought about an unknown view where the deadly disease left its impact on humanity. People are scared to come close to death bodies that are affected by Covid-19, as there is always high risk of spread of the disease.  As a consequence unlike earlier when we would present to console our neighbors and family members in the final journey of their beloved one, at present the situation has turned and we opt to stay far away to curb the spread of the disease any further.

The pain and heaviness that a wife or anyone, who lost his or her beloved one and are restricted from feeling the last soothing touch to express their love to the one lying on his deathbed certainly made the situation more heartbreaking. Our inability to shade tears holding the body of our beloved one tightly to feel the touch for the final time and bid goodbye forever has now also been impossible due to the fare of Corona. This ruthless and painful scenario where we are largely deprived to express our love for our family members and friends who have died due to the pandemic, may get over soon, may civilization be blessed to combat this devastating diseases with the blessing of a remedy sooner rather later.
