Analysis of Man City vs Tottenham Hotspur's tie

The match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur on 17th April 2019 was nothing but a sheer open confrontation, with high level of tactical displays of the two best contemporary managers in the world. The battle in the second tie between these two big clubs to reach the semi-final of Champions League was something gave me goose bumps. There was no room to make mistake. You make a mistake and ‘boom’ you get punished, as Man City got in two occasions. The Korean striker of Spurs made them pay high price for their defensive error. Son Heung-Min, the Korean forward won the heart of his fans after his second goal into just ten minutes of the first half. What a finish it was, two clumsy mistakes by Man City defender and they were punsihed with two stunning strikes of the Korean forward of Spurs.
When it only ticked four minutes into the game Raheem Sterling, for the home side, brought the leveller and the opening goal of the match, but within a span of six minutes Man City were forced to trail in the scoreline. What a strategy we got to see last night. Man City pressing high every minute for the game changer and the visitor on the other hand dug deep and took advantage against the run of play. Twenty one minute into the first half and Man City got their much needed lead through the second goal of sterling, before the deflected strike of Bernardo Silva, which saw the ball rolling past into the Spurs goal on eleven minutes, brought the equaliser for Man City for the second time in the game.
It was indeed unbelievable tie between these two sides who will again see each other on Saturday this week in EPL. Followed by a thrilling first half full of entertainment climax after climax, the second half became the decisive factor for Tottenham Hotspur. They made history by qualifying to the semi-final of Champions League, where they will take on Ajax, who too had an enviable track record in 2019 Champions League.
Agüero, on fifty ninth minute with a stunning shoot again put the home side into advantage but Spurs resilience sparked up once again on 73 minute. When, Llorente, scored from the corner kick.
In a game of relentless drama, City in the dying minutes thought they have made it through to the Semi-final of the tournament, when, Raheem Sterling, put the ball in opponent goal, only it to be ruled out by Var for offside.
