The’ Loksobha election’ of our
nation takes place in every five years and many expectations and hopes of the general
people revolve around the election. The
2019 Loksobha election has also no exception in this matter. People from all
back ground are highly expecting to get a government, who will be in the actual
sense the representative of the people. With the Loksobha elections knocking on
the door, politicians of almost every party have started their campaigning for
several months to grab the support of the general public. In the pre-election session
they promised to facilitate the voters with every possible means to safeguard
and uplift the standard of living of the general people, but very unfortunately
most of those pre-election promises of politicians never been fulfilled.
The basic amenities to lead a
healthy life are yet a far cry for the citizens of many areas of our country.
Mostly in areas like Bihar, Orissa pregnant women and newly born babies in
modern days have to travel miles after miles to avail the basic treatment in
the government hospitals. Streets in the evening time remain dark due to the
absence of street-light. Children and women lack basic nutrition, on the other
hand, government schools are being run just to meet the criteria. Students are
not being properly taught due to insufficient infrastructure and good teacher.
In fact in my own state West
Bengal, still there are many issues which are quite unacceptable, given the
overall progress of the state. Areas which are located far from city lack basic
amenities. Even the government aid, which is being provided for the betterment rural
lifestyle, in maximum cases does not reach the needy one to whom it has been
actually allotted. Not only in villages but also in areas like where I stay
(North 24 PGS) in most of the small roads and leans, there is no street light and
proper drainage system. The local authority
and the member of municipalities have been indifferent to change the poor
scenario and usher the path of development.
Like, the past years perhaps the
2019 election, may get over with most of the promises of our politicians, unfulfilled
and general public will still hold their breath for a positive change.
Nonetheless, being an optimistic person, I feel sooner rather than later positive
changes will be there. Politicians of our nation will realize their fundamental
responsibility and likewise make an endeavor for the holistic progress of the
citizens of the country.
